Description
This is a Gate-leg dining table, model 4656, designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller in 1946. This piece dates to 1954 and is constructed of mahogany. It features a wide wooden hinge and has a double gate leg to insure stability. The table has been fully refinished and retains a partial label.
While fully extended, the table measures 40 inches deep, 65 inches wide, and 30 inches high. When one leaf is up, it measures 42 inches wide. When both leaves are down, the piece is 18.5 inches wide. While the table has been freshly refinished, we have intentionally preserved some signs of age to showcase the history of the piece. Please see photos.
